Earlier this month, Rajkot Police issued a ban against the popular mobile gaming app - PUBG - in public citing the game to be addictive and harmful to the youngsters. And now, just days after the ban was first imposed, 10 people have been arrested in the city for violating the ban and playing the mobile in public areas . According to a report six of the people who have been arrested for violating the terms of ban are a part of a graduate program and they were picked up by the police outside a fast-food joint near a college on the Kalavad road area of the city on Tuesday. Three others who were arrested by the Rajkot Special Operations Group (SGO) for playing PUBG in public include two men, while one of them is working for a private firm in the city, the other is a labourer. And the third man is a graduate student in search of a job. As per the report, the three arrests were made a day after the Rajkot Taluka Police arrested the six students for violating the PUBG ban in the city. The police seized the mobile phones of the individuals for "the purpose of investigation" and it has charged the arrested individuals under the Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code for violating the notification issued by Police Commissioner and Section 35 for playing PUBG despite ban Gujarat Police Act. While six students have been released on bail, others are in the process of being released. Rajkot and Surat districts of Gujarat issued a ban against playing PUBG in public on March 7. The ban against PUBG has been enforced between March 9 and April 30. Days after Rajkot banned the game, Bhavnagar and Gir Somnath districts of the state too issued a notification banning the game in public.
