The tussle over the ticket continues in the Rajasthan Congress. On Wednesday, a discussion was held with senior leaders of Bharatpur, Jodhpur, Kota and Pali divisions in the war room of Congress. Amidst the claims for tickets in the party, it has come to light that CM Gehlot is working day and night to secure tickets for those 50 MLAs who had supported him when Sachin Pilot created a crisis for his government. Had given . Gehlot says that these MLAs had saved the government, hence they should be given tickets and they should be fielded in the elections again. But screening committee chairman Gaurav Gogoi argues that the surveys conducted by the party are indicating that the defeat of these MLAs is certain. Gogoi says that the party cannot give tickets to people whose defeat is certain. These people are also in the category of highly corrupt people and their image at the ground level is very bad. Now everything depends on what stance Rahul Gandhi takes on cutting the tickets of MLAs who have no chance of winning. If Rahul succumbs to Gehlot’s pressure, the party’s situation will worsen.
