Haris Rauf to Muhammad RohidRUN OUT! GAME SET AND MATCH! Pakistan have got the victory they needed to advance to the next round of games as they defeat the United Arab Emirates by 41 runs. On a length around middle and off Muhammad Rohid slices this to deep point and takes two without any difficulty. The throw from the deep was towards the striker's end and Mohammad Haris just tried a cheeky behind-the-back run-out at his end but the batter was well in and the keeper missed the stumps as well. The ball rolled towards the non-striker's end with Rohid keen on the third but at the other end  his partner Junaid Siddiquehad his back against him and wasn't that keen on the run. Haris Rauf picked the ball and threw it on the bounce towards Haris at the striker's end and he did the rest by breaking the stumps.

Haris Rauf to Haider AliOUT! CAUGHT! Another one in the over for Pakistan and Haris Rauf too gets his second of the game. Good length cramping the batter for any sort of room to play with. Haider Ali swings for all moneybut only gets it ballooned towards the fielder at mid-wicket. Sahibzada Farhan settles well underneath it and holds onto it. United Arab Emirates have been brought down to 103 for 9.

Haris Rauf to Simranjeet SinghOUT! SIMRANJEET SINGH IS RUN OUT! Just a stump to aim and Sahibzada Farhan hits the bullseye with the batter way short of his ground. The scolding he got from his skipper a few overs back seems to have got the best out of Farhan in the field. A length delivery from Rauf around middle and leg Simranjeet Singh looks to slog but hits this off the bottom of his bat towards the fielder at mid-wicket and runs for it. Sahibzada Farhan gathers this and hits the stumps at the non-striker's end with the batter much short of his crease. The umpire just to be doubly suresends this upstairs and the result was never in doubt.

Harshit Kaushik looks to get this away towards the fine leg region but fails to get a good connection on it. Ends up gloving this towards the right of the keeper. Mohammad Haris dives to his right and holds onto it inches above the ground. Shaheen Afridi jogs in a celebratory manner towards the keeper but is left stunned as the umpire turns down this. Salman Agha sends this upstairs and there is a spike on the UltraEdge as the ball is next to the gloves of Harshit Kaushikforcing the on-field umpire to change his decision of not out to out. On a length outside off pace off Parashar looks to go over the off side but is not to the pitch of the ball. Ends up slicing it and the ball lobs towards deep cover. Abrar Ahmed to Dhruv ParasharLBW review taken by Pakistan! Seemed to be going down the leg side to the naked eye. It was a full ball down the leg side which Dhruv Parashar missed while attempting the sweep. The ball hit his pads prompting a loud shout from the keeper and the bowler. The ball deflected towards short fine leg and the batters took the single. Meanwhile after a bit of a discussionSalman Agha decided to go for the review. Well, Pakistan find a way to survive and qualify for the Super Fours. What does that mean? Another India-Pakistan clash, but there is some time for that, on Sunday, 21st September, 2025. Tough luck for UAE. They have played really well not only in this series, but in the tri-series prior to this series as well. Of course, there was a blip against India, but that happens to everyone. They will go off this tournament with their heads held high and lots of learnings. Coming to Thursday, 18th September, 2025, we move to Abu Dhabi. Group A is done in terms of qualification but match 11 presents an interesting case. Afghanistan take on Sri Lanka in Group B. A win will take the Afghans through while a loss will take Bangladesh through! Not officially confirmed, but an excellent run rate puts Sri Lanka unofficially into the next round. That should be a cracker of a contest. The first ball is scheduled to be bowled at 2.30 pm GMT but our buildup will begin well in advance. So do tune in early. In the meanwhile, you can catch all the action from the Zimbabwe-Namibia T20I series. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
Muhammad Rohid is the last batter in, replacing Haider Ali.
Direct hit! This looks close. Sahibzada Farhan was the fielder. Oh dear. Gone by a long margin, is Simranjeet Singh.
Caught behind! Is it? Afridi feels so, but the umpire has not given it. Agha has taken the review this time. And yes, UltraEdge detects a spike when the ball is close to the glove!
After 16 overs, United Arab Emirates are 97/6. At the same stage, Pakistan were 105/6. Shaheen Afridi returns. 2-0-10-1 so far.
Haider Ali walks in next, at number 8, replacing Rahul Chopra.
The middle overs have been slow going for United Arab Emirates. They managed just 50 runs and lost 2 wickets in these 9 overs. Pakistan were something similar, managing 54/3 in those 9 overs. Harshit Kaushik walks in next, at number 7, replacing Asif Khan. Also, Salman Agha comes onto bowl.
Asif Khan walks in next, at number 6, replacing Dhruv Parashar. Abrar Ahmed to bowl out. 3-0-11-1 so far.
United Arab Emirates need 67 from 42 balls. Pakistan scored 60 in their last 7 overs. Haris Rauf returns. 1-0-12-0 so far.
After 12 overs, United Arab Emirates are 74/3. At the same stage, Pakistan were 75/3.
United Arab Emirates need another 81 from 54 balls. Pakistan scored 76 from their last 9 overs.
DRINKS BREAK. At the halfway stage, United Arab Emirates are 61/3. At the same stage, Pakistan were 67/2. What this does not tell us is - the difference in the scoring rates. Pakistan were 17/2 after 4 overs and quickened to 50 runs in their next 6 overs. On the other hand, UAE flew off to 35/1 after 4 overs, but have crawled to 26 runs in the last 6 overs. So even though the worm might show both teams as even, it is actually Pakistan who are choking the hosts at the moment. Having said that, the Emirates are adopting the MS Dhoni approach, not going hard after the ball and give room for a collapse. Wickets in hand might just allow you to go big towards the back end, even if might be needing 60 off the last 5.
United Arab Emirates need another 91 runs from 66 balls. Pakistan scored 85 in their last 66.
After 8 overs, United Arab Emirates are 46/3. At the same stage, Pakistan were 50/2.
United Arab Emirates need another 105 from 78 balls. Pakistan managed 102 in their last 78.
Just when United Arab Emirates were making some noise, Pakistan have shut that down. 35/1 after 4 overs becomes 38/3 after 6 overs and looking at the comparison at this stage, Pakistan have won it out of nowhere! They were 39/2 at this stage. Mohammad Nawaz returns. 1-0-13-0 so far.
Well, after all that inspection, umpire RUCHIRA PALLIYAGURUGE IS WALKING OFF THE FIELD. He clearly looks dazed, looking down while walking back towards the room. This is clearly not a good sign, as science suggests that if you are not able to look straight while walking, your nerves might have got affected. The reserve umpire, Gazi Sohel, from Bangladesh, comes on as his replacement. We resume.
Dhruv Parashar walks in next, at number 5, replacing Muhammad Zohaib.
United Arab Emirates need 110 from 90 balls. Pakistan scored 115 in their last 90. So Saim Ayub does get the ball. He will bowl the final over of the Powerplay.
Rahul Chopra walks in next, at number 4, replacing his skipper, Muhammad Waseem.
After 4 overs, United Arab Emirates are 35/1. At the same stage, Pakistan were 17/2! That's nearly double the runs and wickets. Abrar Ahmed to bowl his leg spin now.
United Arab Emirates need 124 from 102 balls. Pakistan scored 135 in their last 102. Enough of spin, say Pakistan. Haris Rauf is about to be unleashed now.
Muhammad Zohaib walks in next, at number 3, replacing Alishan Sharafu.
Earlier, when it was the UAE, it was all about Muhammad Waseem. But ever since Alishan Sharafu has come into the frame, things have changed. Waseem is naturally aggressive but Sharafu is even more so. He is coming of a quickfire 51 (38) against Oman and to add context, in his previous game against Pakistan, in Sharjah, he clobbered 68 (51). He has to be the main wicket for Pakistan.
End of an interesting opening over. Sharafu got things rolling with a boundary, then Afridi bounced back claiming that he has got his man, before things quietened out towards the end. Despite so much action, we just had 6 balls bowled and 6 runs scored! Spin from the other end. It will be Mohammad Nawaz. No Saim Ayub. Could it be because of the success Simranjeet Singh had?
