Right then, what a few days we have had in the 2025 IPL. We got our four playoff teams sealed but Gujarat, Bengaluru and now Punjab have all dropped points. GT are still top with 18 points, RCB and PBKS both have 17 and MI have 16. With one game remaining for each of them, anyone can get in the top two, which allows that extra cushion of losing one game. Well, that is for later, for now, the spotlight turns to Super Sunday with a doubleheader lined up. First up, Gujarat Titans will take on Chennai Super Kings in Ahmedabad with the game beginning at 3.30 pm IST (10 am GMT). This will be followed by the repeat of last year's final as Sunrisers Hyderabad lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders in Delhi. That game will begin at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT), and as usual, you can join us a lot sooner for the build-up of both those games. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!
Should be Marcus Stoinis to bowl the final over. Went for 12 in his opener. Gets only 7 to defend.
19th over - Arshdeep or Stoinis? The former. 3-0-21-0 so far for Arshdeep Singh.
Change? Possibly Stoinis? Nope. Azmatullah Omarzai. 3-0-34-0 so far.
KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs are the only two DC batters to average 30-plus in IPL 2025, both of whom have collectively aggregated nearly 36 percent of DC's total runs.
Tristan Stubbs walks in next at number 6, replacing Karun Nair. Arshdeep Singh returns as well. 2-0-17-0 so far.
STRATEGIC TIMEOUT. 61 needed from 36 balls. 7 wickets in hand. Three in-form batters yet to come - Tristan Stubbs, Ashutosh Sharma and Vipraj Nigam. Have to say. Delhi Capitals are roaring their way to victory in their last game of the season. Just when it seemed that Punjab were getting back into the game with wickets in the middle phase, the last few overs have opened the floodgates. Praveen Dubey went for 17 runs in the 11th over and since then, the complexion of the game has changed. Just one over in between went for 4 runs, but the other three from the 10th over have yielded 49. The Kings need a magic to prevent a loss here. Need wickets. Not one or two but in clusters. Here's Harpreet Brar. 2-0-18-1 so far.
Free Hit time!
Azmatullah Omarzai impressed everyone with his all-round performance in the last match, scoring a quickfire 21 (9) and a spell of 2/44 in 4 overs.
Okay. Ian Bishop on air wants a bowling change. Probably because Karun Nair was getting a bit too comfortable with Praveen Dubey. They have played with one another in the Ranji Trophy in the past, for the same side, Karnataka. And Shreyas responds to Bish's call. Makes a bowling change, bringing in Azmatullah Omarzai. 2-0-20-0 so far.
Sameer Rizvi walks in next at number 5, replacing Sediqullah Atal.
STRATEGIC TIMEOUT. Delhi Capitals are doing really well to match Punjab Kings in this run chase so far. Having been perturbed by their misfiring top order, they have been mostly playing catchup throughout the tournament. However, in this game, the 55-run opening stand has given a nice base. From Punjab's point of view, despite Stoinis advicing during the innings break interview to bowl slower balls, haven't seen much changes of pace from his teammates. Eqqually surprising is the fact that Shreyas Iyer has not thrown the ball yet to Stoinis. Normally, when an allrounder does well in one department, it reflects well in the other. The equation reads 126 from 66 - possible, unless PBKS can enforce a collapse. And mind you, DC's middle order has been in form this season. Ahhh... Shreyas hears us. Here comes Marcus Stoinis.
The Capitals have not been able to find consistency from their top order, who have contributed to 45 percent of the runs scored by DC in IPL 2025. Also to note, this is Sediqullah Atal 50TH match in T20 cricket. Would want to make it memorable for himself.
Sediqullah Atal, on IPL debut, is in next.
Karun Nair walks in at number 3.
Change? Will we see Marco Jansen now? No, Jansen's got to wait as it will be spin by Harpreet Brar.
Who'll bowl from the other end? Will it be Marco Jansen or with the swing on offer, Azmatullah Omarzai? It will be the Afghan international.
